Star Skate
Bridge Program
FALL 2024
Star Skate is GSA's Aspire Bridge Program from Learn to Skate USA. The Bridge Program is one level up from Learn-to-Skate (LTS) Classes and is part of the Glacier Skate Academy Figure Skating Club.
Skaters who have passed LTS Basic Skills Level 4 are eligible to move up into our Star Skate Program!
Skaters who desire to move up into Bridge (Star Skate) must be able to commit to the Star Skate schedule, which consists of weekly group classes as well as individual practice time.
This program is designed to further develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of Freestyle Singles and Skating Skills while helping skaters learn how to train safely and independently.
Star Skate Classes
What is involved?
Star Skate is the next step if you want more than what Learn-to-Skate offers. Star Skate is our US Figure Skating Aspire Program, where skaters learn more about edges, basic spins, and jumps through proper skill development. This program gives your skater a glimpse into what it is like to train like a figure skater. Your skater will fine-tune their fundamentals, build confidence, learn how to navigate skating on a freestyle session and develop new friendships.
Pre-requisites and goals:
-Passed Basic 4 to move into Star.
-Working towards being promoted to Junior Club Clinics by staying focused during Star Skate classes, being kind and respectful to all skaters/coaches/parents, utilizing practice ice well, and actively working on their Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills.
